History

Japanese Scandinavian Radiological Society was founded by Professor Kumazaki, Tokyo and Professor Nordenström, Stockholm at a radiological meeting on Hawaii in 1985.  The purpose is to facilitate exchange of young radiologists between Japan and Scandinavia, and to arrange joint scientific meetings.

Since 1993 the meetings have been held together with the Nordic Japan PACS symposium, that was founded as a forum for exchange of ideas for the development of PACS as an alternative to the mainstream trends in USA and Central Europe.
